Are kitschy sticky tabs really worth it?

Today is November 1st 2011. Which is the day we officially kick off the nanowrimo challange! I had mixed feelings about this one. A week and a half ago, as i was prepping my brain for characters, plot, settings.... all the fun stuff i love... pics, playlists... PAPERCLIPS!!!... i was on my way to office depot to get some nifty stick em tabs that screamed in bright blue "NOTE" (I thought they would be a perfect addition to my writers activity bag) when unfortunately i was in a fender bender on the freeway. Not one of the eight people involved were hurt and only one car required towing away from the scene. Which of course is the good news. The bad news is anyone who has been in such an accident knows that often times while you may be able to drive your car away from the site it doesn't necessarily mean it's LEGAL to drive it.
So quickly i found myself having to scramble around to get the car to the shop, deal with insurance and get myself into a rental. The good news is i had a few days off where i could get by using the kindness of my roomates, the bad news is ever single ounce of energy i had went into trying to figure out the whole mess.
So as Nov 1st approached i was less and less excited about writing this years novel and became more and more stressed about the car situation.
But today i managed, for a few hours at least, to put all the stress and worry aside and it actually was quite nice to get back into writing.
In order to complete the task, i must write around 1666 words daily. I am very excited to announce that i have laid down a full 1673 words today!
Now i can't say it's my best writing... but the important thing is... i wrote.
My dad was a runner and when he wanted to stop he would say with each step "run-ners-run... run-ners-run..."
I happily take the torch from him and chant "Wri-ters-Write... Wri-ters-Write..."
... and i did too...

PS. A few days ago, i finally was able to make it to that office depot. I thought if the sticky tabs were under 5 bucks i may still get them, i mean i did get into an accident for the fuckers. Guess what? They don't make them anymore!
